I got into taking photos for others when I noticed how many friends and family do not have good quality pictures of themselves. So, I began taking pictures of them so they could have photos for Christmas cards, gifts, and to frame around the house. After seeing and hearing how important these photos became to them I decided I wanted to do this more often. I truly believe that special moments of our lives deserve to be captured.

Photography has become my second passion in life. My first passion is nursing. I have been a registered nurse now for 12 years. I have a servant heart, and there is no better way for me to show this than in both my profession. From when I was a little girl, I always knew nursing is what I wanted to do. I am a huge believer in that we were put on this Earth to serve others and not be served.

Hello! My name is Val!

I am an auntie, photographer, and a nurse who loves Jesus. I have two Chocolate Labs, Miley and Kona. I grew up in a small mountain town. I love scrapbooking and music (country and classic rock mostly). I will always be down for a concert! I love the summer and being out on the lake. I love trying local craft beers as well as new flavors of Kombucha.

I grew up in a family where pictures were taken all the time. Whether it was our sporting events, candids at the lake, or professional pictures taken, we did it all. Throughout my house growing up there were framed pictures in every room that reminded us of some of the best times. Instead of reading bedtime stories, we looked at photo albums. It was through our photo albums that my sister and I learned who everyone was in our family. Even now, when I go home, looking at pictures is one of my favorite things to do. I wanted to carry this tradition into my own family. I lost my dad a little over a year ago. Pictures are all I have now, and I have never been so grateful to have such precious memories with me at all times. These are the memories you’ll cherish forever and I want to capture those so that you can hang them on your walls, send them to loved ones, and look back on those moments and feel the emotion.
